I lived in Barnes until I was 23 many moons ago.Elm Grove Road and then

Used to go out with a girl from
Seaforth Lodge and drink in the Sun Inn, opposite the pond, back in the
60s, so I have a soft spot for Barnes and your missing pond!

I stumbled across this website
by accident but was well worth the stumble as it has brought back many memories
for me. I lived in Barnes (Ferry Road) when I was younger and went to St
Osmonds School (1980-83) with Adam Kenworthy, Sophie Newman, Rebecca Green,
Laura French, and many more whose faces I can see but names I can't remember!
I then went to Waldegrave Girls School for a short time before moving to
Somerset. I have very fond memories of my time growing up in Barnes (even
though it was fairly brief) and regularly visit for a trip down memory lane!

I lived at 6 Ullswater Road
in Barnes during the war from 1939 to 1957 when we emigrated to Canada.
I met my wife Joy (Edge) at St.Osmund's Church Youth Club. She lived at
26 Bellevue Rd.. We both have fond memories of walks on Barnes Common, The
Red Lion and The Sun Inn. It's nice to see pictures and articles of the
old place. Keep up the good work. |
