My Mother lived in Barnes and Mortlake for about 18 years, from 1927 to 1946, when she was a young girl. She left to come to America when she married my dad in 1945. A GI bride. I am her youngest daughter and was very pleased to find the web site and to read all that is going on there. I have been to Barnes and Mortlake twice, and it was so cozy and pleasant there. My Mum will enjoy coming over and reading about her childhood home. Keep up the good work.

I visited Barnes when I went to London in 1999. It's a very beautiful, quiet place, but that was just before the Hammersmith Bridge re-opened. I went for walks along the Thames path past the old Harrods Furniture depository and the new units. I also walked the other way towards Barnes Bridge. I wish I was in Barnes now.

I have been to Barnes only once, which was on the anniversary of Marc Bolans death (16th September). My visit was to pay my respects and reflect on Marc life, at the tree - the place where he left our earth.

God Bless You Mark.

Love you for ever.

Janice.
